Psoriasis Causes
Affecting 2-4% of the population, this lifelong condition commonly presents between 15-25 or 50-60 years old although can exhibit at any time. There is a familial link between one-third of patients. Categorised as speeding up the lifecycles of skin cells causing a build-up on the skin psoriasis usually presents on the knees, elbows or scalp, although can appear anywhere on the body.

Psoriasis may be aggravated by emotional stress, scratching, rubbing, injury, medications, some infections and smoking.
